
Born in 1998 in Skopje, Macedonia, Ana Spasovska began her violin studies at the age of nine before continuing her education at the Academy of Music in Skopje under the guidance of Prof. Oleg Kondratenko. She has won numerous special awards in both solo violin and chamber music competitions.
Ana later pursued conducting studies at the Academy of Music in Skopje with Prof. Borjan Canev, gaining her first conducting experience with the Academy’s orchestra, with which she continues to collaborate. Since 2019, she has studied with Maestro Uroš Lajovic at his masterclasses in Dubrovnik and Plovdiv. Maestro Lajovic described her as „a born conductor“ and „one of my best students.“
Her conducting debut came in 2019 with the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, followed by engagements with the Plovdiv State Opera and Jeunesses Musicales. She was also invited to conduct at the First Skopje Brass Festival, and in June 2021, she made her debut with the Macedonian Philharmonic Orchestra, where she remains an active guest conductor.
In 2022, Ana won the first International Conducting Competition with the Hungarian National Symphony Orchestra in Szeged, Hungary, where she continued as a guest conductor. She is also the founder of the Chamber Orchestra Ayga in Skopje, with which she has led concerts featuring world-renowned artists such as pianists Simon Trpčeski and Ivo Pogorelich, as well as violin virtuoso Kirill Troussov.
Ana’s international career has grown rapidly. In 2023, she was invited to participate in the European Capital of Culture program, serving as assistant conductor to Maestro Gabriel Bebeselea in a co-production of Schoenberg’s Gurrelieder with Filharmonica Banatul Timișoara, Opera Nationala Timișoara, and Theater Altenburg Gera.
In January 2024, she was invited by Radio France to assist in three concerts with Orchestre National de France under the baton of Maestro Cristian Măcelaru in Paris. She was also selected as a 2024-2025 Taki Alsop Conducting Fellowship Mentee by Marin Alsop.
Ana is a 2024 Fellow of the Cabrillo Music Festival in Santa Cruz, California, and one of the conducting fellows at the prestigious George Enescu Festival in Bucharest, Romania. She also played a key role as an assistant conductor in the Orchestre National de France’s 150th-anniversary celebration of Maurice Ravel in Paris.
