Antonius Anand Nazareth is a pianist, composer, and aspiring conductor, born into a family of musicians, with his father being the renowned Austrian/Indian conductor Daniel Nazareth. Originally from Italy and raised across multiple countries, including France, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and the U.S., Antonius holds both German and Austrian citizenship.
A polyglot fluent in German and English, and proficient in Italian and French, Antonius‘ musical journey began early. His pre-college studies in piano performance took him to Vienna with Noel Flores and Hamburg with Ralf Nattkemper. At the age of 13, he became the youngest student admitted to the undergraduate program at the Freiburg Hochschule, where he studied under Elza Kolodin with a special permit from the German Minister of Education. His formal education in music continued at the Manhattan School of Music in New York, where he studied piano performance with Philip Kawin, and at the New York University, studying composition.
Driven by a passion to engage new audiences with classical music, Antonius co-launched an award-winning YouTube channel featuring his original musical theatre and symphonic compositions, which have garnered over 2 billion views. His interest in the voice is central to his artistic work, and his compositions reflect this focus.
Currently, Antonius is a member of the music faculty at AMDA, the premier conservatory for musical theatre and dance in the U.S., where he collaborates with vocalists and dancers from around the globe.
In addition to his academic roles, he has scored several award-winning short films and feature films, solidifying his reputation as a versatile and accomplished composer.
