Pablo Zamora Mata is a Costa Rican conductor known for his dedication to musical excellence and education. His dynamic artistry and commitment to fostering young talent have earned him recognition across the Americas. He currently serves as assistant conductor of the Austin Symphony Orchestra, where he plays a key role in artistic planning, community engagement, and performances. 

Zamora Mata has led orchestras across North and South America, including the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, the Nashville Symphony Orchestra, the National Symphony Orchestras of Costa Rica and Argentina, and the University of São Paulo Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, he has served as a cover conductor for the National Symphony Orchestra of the United States. His work extends beyond the concert hall, as he actively collaborates with contemporary composers and interdisciplinary artists to bring innovative programming to audiences. 

A passionate advocate for music education, Zamora Mata has mentored and trained young musicians through his work with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Atlanta Music Project, and Costa Rica’s National Honor Orchestras within the National System of Music Education. He has also contributed to internationally renowned programs such as Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestras, the Dudamel Foundation’s Encuentros Festival, the LA Philharmonic’s YOLA National Festival, the Carlos Miguel Prieto Fellowship of the OAcademy, and the Sphinx Connect Conference. His educational initiatives reflect his belief in music as a vehicle for social change and cultural connection. 

Zamora Mata has studied under and collaborated with esteemed conductors and educators, including Marianne Ploger, Catherine Larsen-Maguire, Molly Turner, Sarah Ioannides, Ligia Amadio, Marin Alsop, and Miguel Harth-Bedoya. His artistic development has been shaped by participation in competitive conducting programs and masterclasses, where he has refined his technique and interpretative approach.
