
Evgenia Asanova has been passionate about music since early childhood, beginning her piano studies at the age of five. From 2009 to 2011, she studied piano at the Ryazan State Musical College. During this time, she also performed as a soloist with the jazz band Feelin’s, touring throughout Russia and Europe and broadening her artistic horizons.
She later turned her focus to classical singing. From 2012 to 2013, she was a member of the A.A. Yurlov State Academic Choir of Russia. In 2014, she completed her studies with a degree in Classical Singing and began working with the Moscow State Choir Ensemble of Spiritual Music Blagovest.
In September 2014, Evgenia joined the State Theater of Rostov-on-Don, where she performed the roles of Olga in Eugene Onegin and Laura in Iolanta by P. Tchaikovsky. Later that year, she became a soloist at the Rostov State Philharmonic.
From 2015 to 2018, she was an artist in the prestigious Young Artists Opera Program at the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. She made her debut on the Historical Stage in 2016 as Feodor in Mussorgsky’s Boris Godunov. The following year, she toured France and Austria with the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse under the baton of Tugan Sokhiev. In July 2017, she sang Olga in Eugene Onegin during the Bolshoi Theatre’s festival appearances in Aix-en-Provence, France, and Savonlinna, Finland.
In summer 2018, Evgenia won First Prize at the G. Ots International Festival-Competition in St. Petersburg and was nominated for the prestigious “Chigiana” Music Award in Italy. In 2019, she sang Olga in Eugene Onegin and the title role in Bizet’s Carmen at the Opera Theater in Seoul, South Korea.
From 2019 to 2021, she was a guest soloist at the Staatsoper Hannover, performing roles including Bradamante in Handel’s Alcina, Hänsel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel, and Carmen in Bizet’s Carmen. During this period, she also appeared in concerts with renowned conductors such as Vladimir Spivakov, Yuri Bashmet, Paul Goodwin, and Daniele Rustioni.
In the summer of 2021, she made her debut at the Salzburg Festival as Die Vertraute in Strauss’s Elektra and participated in the Young Singers Project. That same year, she was a semi-finalist in the highly esteemed “BBC Cardiff Singer of the World” competition.
Since 2021, Evgenia Asanova has been a soloist at Bühnen Bern in Switzerland, where she has expanded her repertoire with roles including Thibault in Verdi’s Don Carlos, Idamante in Mozart’s Idomeneo, Mélisande in Debussy’s Pelléas et Mélisande, Romeo in Bellini’s I Capuleti e i Montecchi, the Third Lady in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Stéphano in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette, Rychtářka in Janáček’s Jenůfa, Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and Wellgunde in Wagner’s Götterdämmerung.
