Tenor Jaebeom Park, South Korean by birth, Italian at heart, is considered one of the most promising rising stars on the international opera scene.
He graduated in 2017 from South Korea’s prestigious Chu-Gye University of Arts under the guidance of the esteemed Prof. Kim Younghwan. Fueled by his passion for musical excellence, in 2019 he set forth on a transformative musical journey to Italy where he continued his studies with Donatella Saccardi at the Arrigo Boito Conservatory in Parma. In 2021 he joined the prestigious Accademia Verdi at the Teatro Regio di Parma. One of his most influential mentors is the Italian bass Carlo Colombara.
Jaebeom Park’s competition successes to date include the First Prize at the 16th International Opera Competition Rinaldo Pelizzoni in 2021, and the Third Prize at the 4th International San Colombano Competition. He was awarded the Special Prize at the Canto Bellano Paese degli Artisti International Competition in 2022. He was a finalist in renowned competitions such as the 3rd International Nicolaj Ghiaurov Competition, the 4th Opera Competition Salvatore Licitra, and the 7th Singing Competition Voci in Canto.
In 2011 Jaebeom Park gave his highly acclaimed opera debut as Nemorino in Donizetti’s L’elisir D’amore at the Seoul Art Center. Carefully moving towards a heavier repertoire, he debuted in 2019 in the role of Mario Cavaradossi in Puccini’s Tosca at the Teatro Crystal in Collecchio. Other widely successful debuts at the Teatro Crystal include Rodolfo in Puccini’s La Bohème (2022) and Turridu in Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana (2023). In December 2023, he made his role debut as Manrico in Verdi’s Trovatore in a production hosted by the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation at the Teatro Duse in Bologna.
The young tenor equally captivates audiences on the concert stage. At the Teatro Regio in Parma, he appeared in concerts featuring operas such as Turandot, Simone Boccanegra, and Ernani. Active participation in events like Verdi Off 2020, 2021, and engagements with the Fondazione Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana during the 2023 season showcased the diverse facets of his musical endeavors.
Jaebeom Park is passionate about bringing opera to future audiences and regularly appears in concerts for young people. Recently he participated in the Belcanto Concerto dei Giovani Talenti 2023/2024 at the Teatro Comunale Pavarotti-Freni in Modena.
