Mariana Carnovali is a spinto soprano with extensive international experience. She is widely recognized for her significant contributions to the cultural landscape of her native Buenos Aires. With a proven track record of excellence in both performance and cultural initiatives, she has garnered support and accolades from numerous prestigious institutions.
Carnovali’s journey in opera began at the Instituto Superior de Arte del Teatro Colón, where she refined her vocal skills. Her talent was soon recognized, and in 2005, she received the „Revelación“ award from the Asociación Argentina de Críticos Musicales. Her pursuit of musical excellence continued with a scholarship from Mozarteum Argentino in 2008, which allowed her to complete her university studies in vocal performance at the Hochschule für Musik in Augsburg, Germany.
In January 2009, Carnovali’s exceptional abilities were further acknowledged when she won a Special Prize at the International „Francisco Viñas“ Competition in Barcelona. From 2009 to 2012, she was part of the Opera Studio of the Zurich Opera, performing in various productions and collaborating with renowned conductors and directors, which greatly enriched her technical and artistic skills.
In addition to her singing career, Mariana Carnovali holds a Master’s degree in Cultural Management from the University of Zurich, Switzerland, funded by a scholarship from the institution. Her academic and professional pursuits have been supported by several esteemed scholarships, including those from Maria Marta Sanchez de Nuñez, Mozarteum Argentino, Fundación Teatro Colón, Juventus Lyrica, SIAA Lichtenstein, and Leanara Stiftung.
As a cultural manager, Carnovali founded the Festival MAIA – Festival por la Diversidad. This festival, supported by the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires, was presented in September 2022 and June 2024. The festival aims to promote cultural diversity through various events and programs, with Carnovali responsible for the artistic programming, securing necessary support and funding as well as logistics.
Throughout her career, Mariana Carnovali has consistently demonstrated a commitment to both performance excellence and cultural promotion. Her achievements have been recognized by numerous institutions and have contributed to her reputation as a distinguished personality in the cultural life of Argentina.
