Vittoria Vimercati | pura musica artists

Emerging mezzo-soprano Vittoria Vimercati was born in Milano, Italy, and began her voice training under the guidance of baritone Gianluca Valenti, who remains her most important teacher until today. She graduated in opera singing from the Milan Conservatory in 2021 with honors.

At the age of 22, the young singer won the Premio Licitra, a competition named after the tenor Salvatore Licitra. This milestone marked her stage debut as Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly at Teatro Coccia in Novara, conducted by Matteo Beltrami and directed by Renato Bonajuto.

Her international debut followed in 2018 as Isabella in Rossini’s L’italiana in Algeri at the Adán Martín Theater in Tenerife, conducted by Nikolas Nägele and directed by Giorgia Guerra. During this engagement, she participated in a masterclass with Mariella Devia. Later that year, she performed as Alisa in Lucia di Lammermoor at the same venue, conducted by Christopher Franklin.

In 2019, Vittoria Vimercati debuted as Isabella at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna.  The same year, she was a finalist in the Etta e Paolo Limiti International Competition and was awarded a scholarship to attend the prestigious Corso d’Opera, where she refined her skills with Hugo de Ana, Alessandro Corbelli, and Michele Pertusi.

In June 2022, she was a finalist of the Hans Gabor Belvedere World Competition.

In 2023, Vittoria gave her debut as Dmitri in Giordano’s Fedora, directed by Pier Luigi Pizzi and conducted by Aldo Sisillo, at Teatro Municipale in Piacenza and Teatro Comunale in Modena. Later that year, she was selected as one of twelve finalists for the final audition of the Wiener Staatsoper Young Artist Programme.

2024 saw Vittoria Vimercati’s debut at Teatro alla Scala in her hometown, appearing as one of the three girls in Puccini’s La Rondine and later as Ancella in Turandot.

She has been a finalist in both the Concorso Internazionale Giacomo Puccini and the Concorso Internazionale Maria Grazia Forghieri, with the finale with orchestra for the latter being scheduled later in Budapest.

Vittoria Vimercati’s repertoire includes roles such as Charlotte from Werther by Massenet, Carmen by Bizet, Dalila from Samson et Dalila by Saint-Saëns and Mignon by Thomas. From the Mozart repertoire she performs roles such as Sesto, Farnace and Cherubino.
